The Story Mode represents the primary and introductory experience for players engaging with the game's content.
Through a cutting-edge cinematic narrative, the single-player campaign helps new users familiarize themselves with fundamental systems like character progression and combat in a hand-crafted critical path. Memorably authored plot points and set pieces seize attention from the outset.
Upon completing the prologue, players can access the Colossus’ Library, where the primary objective to advance the main story is established - repairing and restoring the library.
As players make progress in completing story stages, additional areas of the library will become unlocked, housing new NPCs and interactive scenery to discover. It is within these expanding zones that users will steadily learn gameplay systems beyond combat through environmental exploration and social encounters.
Navigation of the sprawling library serves as an introductory tutorial of sorts, gently acclimating new recruits to map navigation, crafting, economy management, and other fundamental features away from active skirmishing. Nuanced quest narratives and community bargaining alike furnish guidance on how disparate mechanics engage synergistically.
This budding information hub grants safety to experiment while absorbing the breadth of systems facilitating player expression, cooperation and success. Its unfolding reveals steadily prime protagonists for richer adventures
The game world is segmented chronologically into three eras - Voidom, Primglory, and Trurem.
Players can undertake stages across the prologue and each of these three epochs. Within every era are six chapters consisting of five stages each, providing a vast array of challenges.
Stage content is diverse and infused with randomness, including encounters such as:
Waves of minor enemies
Boss battles
Resource nodes for harvesting
Mystery treasure chests hiding riches
Shrines awarding relics after donations
Alert horns summoning allies to aid in defense
Corrupted mausoleums twisting levels
Puzzle mechanisms unlocking secrets
Guardian bosses protecting precious artifacts
This assortment maintains novelty and replay incentive throughout progression. Unforeseen map generations and occurrences inspire adaptability and discovery, continually refreshing veterans' experience alongside new recruits' first exposures to expansive story and trial content.
Upon each defeat of a chief opponent, the Heir must make a pivotal choice between "Sacrifice" and "Redemption".
This evocative binary branch presents thought-provoking consequences that influence the protagonist's unfolding path. Selecting Sacrifice may appease dark deities for boons but risks corruption of ideals. Meanwhile, opting for Redemption demands sparing foes to spare one's own humanity, though powers of shadow are denied.
