At the start of the game, players will need to select one of three main characters - Hela, Esther, or Chaos - to create their protagonist. They will then take on the role of their chosen character and guide that individual through the gameplay experience.

The Colossus' Library is a space created by the Dark Colossus to contain the 「Book of Voidom」from the past world, and Hela is one of the Colossus' Library's Inheritors.
So, the girl behind the black mask set off along with two others on a 「Journey to Voidom」, endless traveling to the past to seek what had been lost and to discover the secrets once hidden under Yggdrasil.
